What is blepharoplasty?

Blepharoplasty is more commonly called as an eyelid surgery. It’s a procedure done basically to remove fat and excess skin along the upper and lower eyelids.

Blepharoplasty can be beneficial for a lot of reasons, not to mention aesthetically because you will look years younger and fresher after the procedure. Blepharoplasty or eyelid surgery can get rid of drooping upper lids due to long hours of work or aging, and can get rid of large eye bags under your eyes.

By getting rid of those, you will surely look and feel better because those conditions may also interfere with your vision, so by having an eyelid surgery, your vision may even improve.

What patients need to understand though that the areas around the eyes will not be affected by the eyelid surgery. Crow’s feet, drooping eyebrows or dark circles around your eyes will not be able to be corrected by an eyelid surgery. However, if you do want those problems to be corrected, you can have other surgeries together with an eyelid surgery like a brow lift or a face lift.
