Looking like Claire Danes, Feeling like Claire Danes: Plastic Surgery on the Go
Claire lives a dual life. She’s a straight A student, quiet yet approachable. She likes watching movies, and wishes she could act. She wants to have a boyfriend, but she isn’t rushing it.
The thing is, she’s also lonely. She knows that she isn’t that pretty – attractive maybe, even nice-looking, but not pretty – and she often blames her looks for the blues she’s feeling. And aside from having a bizarre freak accident when she was just a kid – that left a big scar that crawled along her face – Claire was living a sad and cold life. Yet, she still manages. Being like any typical college student, she also idolizes certain celebrities. And who she idolizes, quite surprisingly, shares the same name as her – Claire Danes.
Juliet for some, Claire Danes has everything that Claire doesn’t. She can act, sing and be beautiful all at the same time. So when some of her close friends went through plastic surgery operations, she decided to transform herself into her idol.
She did have her doubts at first. Heck, she was scared. But being the organized and proper girl she was, she decided to write down some reasons first, to let her help decide to go through a surgery or not.
Why do I want to change my appearance?
Claire thought hard about it. Why do I want to change my look? Is it that bad? It’s the scar, isn’t it? Claire thought long and hard. She considered the risks involved, in case of a botched-up operation. She also thought of the benefits. Maybe she’ll actually gain that self-esteem needed to get by in life.
Will my parents want this?
Claire discussed the pressing matter with her parents. Supportive to their only daughter, their advice was that Claire can be the only person to know if she truly wants this or not. Let no other person tell you what you need or want for your body, her mother would tell her. She’s right, after all. It’s her plastic surgery, not anyone else’s.
Last Puff?
Claire considered long and hard on this one. Her only vice was smoking, which she indulged on whenever she’s stressed. Claire read up on the many complications smoking does on one health. She also found out the higher risk of damage it does for plastic surgery patients. She decided if she’ll ever do go through the operation, she had better quit smoking as well. Decisions, decisions. It’s a bother for Claire as well.
So, did Claire go through with her plastic surgery? We wouldn’t know – it’s her choice. She’ll probably let a few people know (her parents included), but let’s all respect her decision. After all, the important thing here is that she thought long and hard on it. So if you do consider taking up plastic surgery, make sure to think things through as well.
